Cavalese, Italy

The alpine village of Cavalese extends on a green tableland, and it is the amministrative seat of the Valley of Fiemme long since, as the old Palazzo della Magnifica Comunità bears witnes. The Local Comunity was constitued in Middle ages years, and it is yet live in managing the huge wood heritage.

In Parco della Pieve, among the trees, there is the “Banc della Reson”, consisting in two stone circles made with six blocks, and in the centre a circular stone table with a hollow for the polls. This place once upon a  time was used for the local assemblies of the Community.

Cavalese is as well a famous summer and winter resort. In winter it can offer its visitors numerous ski-lifts, especially on Alpe Cermis, as well as cross-country skiing at the bottom of the valley and in Lavazè Pass. Summer visitors are offered a wide range of excursions and of walks. There are also other sports activities and organized cultural and social events. The old and artistic Bishop's Palace, which is the official seat to the Magnificent General Community of Fiemme, is worth visiting.
